The Luthier
Luca's journey began at ten years old, his fingers trembling on the strings of a guitar within the halls of the conservatory. Music became his first language, a voice that spoke to something deep and eternal.
Years later, armed with a degree in philosophy and a head full of questions, an unexpected passion took root: wood. Raw, silent, and alive. At first it made no sense. But then, like a melody revealing its hidden harmony, the equation unfolded. Love for music, reverence for wood, a calling. In that moment, he chose the path of the luthier.
Today, from his workshop in Fiavé, a small village nestled in the mountains of Trentino, Luca builds classical guitars of extraordinary quality. Entirely by hand, without CNC machinery, one instrument at a time. Each guitar takes two to four months of focused work. His models are entirely personal designs. While deeply rooted in the rich heritage of traditional lutherie, they intentionally push beyond the standard boundaries of classical guitar making, exploring new structural and acoustic concepts to create truly avant-garde instruments.
He prioritises local, sustainable tonewoods such as Italian spruce from the alpine valleys, Trentino walnut, cherry, and cedar. Every top is accurately hand-voiced, every neck is handcarved for comfort and longevity, every surface finished with refined shellac in the French polish tradition.
But the craft does not end at the workbench. For every guitar he builds, Luca plants a tree through Treedom, nurturing new life where it is needed most. Every tree bears the name of the person who welcomed the instrument into their life, rooted in the earth and singing into the future.
The name Kairòs, from the ancient Greek for "the right moment," reflects Luca's conviction that building a great instrument cannot be rushed. It happens when the wood, the hands, and the intention align.
Every cut, curve and joint shaped entirely by hand.
Alpine spruce, Trentino walnut, Italian cherry, all sourced sustainably from the surrounding valleys.
Refined shellac finish applied by hand: the most transparent, acoustically alive surface treatment.
For every guitar built, a tree is planted through Treedom, bearing the name of its new owner. Rooted in the earth, singing into the future.
Instruments
An expert in the traditional art of French polishing, Luca finishes his instruments using a proprietary shellac recipe refined over years of meticulous research. He carefully blends premium shellac with select natural resins, including benzoin, elemi, Manila copal, dammar, and sandarac. For those seeking a different aesthetic, Luca also offers custom oil finishes. This down-to-earth approach, which he particularly loves, leaves the wood feeling incredibly alive, granting the guitar a uniquely rustic and vintage character.

Pandora is an extraordinarily high-performance instrument, engineered to deliver an immense, authoritative volume while maintaining crystalline definition across the entire spectrum. It possesses a sonically transformative dynamic range: both the bass and treble registers exhibit the rare capability to whisper with seductive, velvety warmth, only to erupt instantly into a thunderous, explosive roar. This immediate sonic projection defies the traditional lag of the soundbox, thrusting the sound forward with breathtaking speed and presence, enveloping the listener in a visceral acoustic experience.

La Trentina was designed to meet the expressive and technical demands classical guitarists. Structurally, the guitar maintains the lightness and immediacy of response that flamenco players require, while preserving the depth, sustain, and clarity expected in a concert classical instrument. This is achieved through selective graduation of the top, a responsive yet stable bracing system, and precise control of overall mass and stiffness.

Ulysses currently holds the prestigious mantle of being the most powerful, high-performance concert guitar to have emerged from my workshop. Its fundamental volume is breathtaking—an explosive, visceral projection that effortlessly commands any hall, enveloping both player and audience in a formidable acoustic presence. The soundbox does not just amplify; it seemingly annihilates any traditional lag, thrusting energy forward with devastating immediacy. The sonic architecture is anchored by a foundational register of "scandalous" density. The basses are not merely low; they possess a resonant, tangible viscosity—a physical warmth that is rare in its depth and intensity, providing a secure and controlled bedrock for every harmonic layer.

Despite its impressive physical lightness, Asterion's voice is an authoritative and perfectly balanced hybrid. It commands the deep, full-bodied, and character-rich basses of a concert classical guitar, yet it attacks with the arrogant, explosive responsiveness and crystalline, piercing trebles of a pure flamenco blanca. It is an instrument designed for the player who demands nuance, power, and absolute clarity.
